Snowy Day

Baltimore Gonna wash my hair with snow, Make mine a butterfinger blizzard, Oh Ezra Jack Keats how I love you, White Christmas anyone No Comments
Blizzard in Baltimore. Or so the headlines say. Needless to say, the snow is coming down quickly outside. There’s something about it that matches my mood. Having just wrapped up another semester and preparing to head to New Mexico on Monday, I’m seizing the weekend for the quiet it offers, a pause in the midst of the seasonal rush.
I have so many things I want and need to do; photos of my newest books to post, my brother’s senior portraits to edit, Christmas gifts to be made and wrapped, holiday cards to finish and mail, a house to be cleaned. But as this snow blankets the neighborhood–piling up and cars, curling into door frames, whirling past windows–I’m wrapping up in a robe, pouring a mug of tea, popping on a movie, and ignoring it all for awhile. Call it a mini hibernation, if you will. Whatever it is, I’m pretty thrilled about it.
