Works in Progress

Uncategorized crochety old woman, hooking, hottest and most painful heels ever, ink under my fingernails, working in progress No Comments
I’m in my last week before classes. It really snuck up on me. I suppose it always does.
And so now I’m counting down the days till Monday and thinking that perhaps I need to purchase my textbooks. Find out what they are, even.
And I’m thinking of all the projects I didn’t get done. The writing I didn’t do. The time I wasted. But it was relaxing. And I did get some things done, or at least started.
My current works in progress:

A gocco self portrait (per my earlier blog, I’m using the term self portrait somewhat liberally) of the beautiful high heels I wore to the New Mexico State Society Inaugural Ball (the actual shoes are black, but I wanted to add some color, and couldn’t figure out how to make all black work). I have two more color layers to add before this is complete. This project was inspired by Paper Scissors, who is doing some gorgeous work with her gocco. My shoes aren’t nearly as well done; she’s got some really amazing shading. But I loved the idea, and it stuck in my head.

My latest crochet project, a market bag from a pattern by Knot Sew Cute, easily one of my favorite Etsy sellers. They have delightful patterns.
As my weekend winds down I’ll be trying to finish up these projects and probably starting one or two others. And I’ll be shelling out for text books. I keep telling myself busy is good.
